Apply discounts and coupons
A bill comes down at the POS in three ways only: a coupon code, an automatic offer, or loyalty points. There is no manual discount, and a code never combines with an offer on one order.
On this page
Before you start
- The Apply order discounts permission to apply a code and spend points.
- An order in the cart, with the Payment screen open.
Every discount lives on the Payment screen; the cart shows the price before discounts. The POS has no percentage or amount-off button, no price override and no free-item control.
Coupon codes
Step 1: Type or pick the code
Type the code in Enter discount code and tap Apply, or tap Browse offers to list the branch's active coupons and pick one.
Step 2: Check the discount
Code applied appears with the code and the amount off. To drop it, tap Remove.
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| That code is not valid. | No coupon has that code. |
| This code has expired. | The coupon's dates have passed. |
| This code has reached its usage limit. | The coupon has been used as many times as allowed. |
| Order total is below this code's minimum. | Add items until the order reaches the minimum. |
| This code is not valid at this branch. | The coupon is limited to other branches. |
A coupon is a percentage or a fixed amount, and an Admin creates it in the back office under Coupons.
Automatic offers
Offers apply on their own, with nothing for the cashier to choose: a percentage off a category, money off above a spend, or buy-X-get-Y, on set days, hours and branches. When the cart qualifies, Offer applied shows with the offer's name and amount. If you then apply a code, the offer is struck through with A discount code replaces the running offer. Offers are created under Offers in the back office.
One discount, one source
- A typed code beats every automatic offer.
- Without a code, exactly one offer applies — the one worth most to the guest. Two offers never combine.
- Loyalty points are not a competing discount: they are spent on what is left after the code or offer.
- An open check keeps the offer it opened with, even if items are added after the offer ends.
- Orders from your ordering site take coupon codes only; automatic offers are for the POS alone.
Loyalty points
Step 1: Enter the guest's number
In Loyalty points, type the Guest mobile number and tap Look up. On Saudi accounts it takes a Saudi mobile number.
Step 2: Check the balance
The guest's balance shows in points and what they are worth. If the number isn't registered yet, this order opens a new account for the guest and they start earning.
Step 3: Spend the points
Tap the Use … points button, which shows the number of points and their value, to take off the most the programme allows in one go. To remove the number, tap Clear.
The guest earns points on their number even if the cashier lacks the discount permission; spending them needs it. Details in Points at the till.
Can I give a guest a manual discount?
No. Ask the back office to create a coupon under Coupons, then apply it by its code.
Does a coupon code combine with a running offer?
No. The code replaces the offer, so the order keeps one discount; loyalty points can still be spent on top.
Why don't I see the discount code field?
It shows only to people with the Apply order discounts permission, which Admin, Branch manager and Cashier have by default.
